The free use of the R/V PHILIA from third parties, offered in the framework of the RePHIL project and the interest expressed by the participants (research, educational and productive parties), forms a successful example of financing that produces a great result with minimal cost as it highlighted:
- the need and possibilities of cooperation and interaction between Research Centers (RC), Academic Institutions/ Universities and productive parties
- the support of young scientists, of their ideas and capabilities, by giving them access to research infrastructures they would not otherwise have, while contributing in the reduction of brain drain
- the possibility of strengthening the RC and of supporting their large scientific infrastructures indirectly and from other resources
The twelve (12) proposals selected and will be realized during the first semester of 2022 are the following:
Educational oceanographic expedition for the students of the Department of Biology of the University of Crete with the reconstructed R/V "PHILIA" (BIOFIL)
